Stages of of a Little Painting

Below are three stages of a painting I just completed. Used an old photo of Annie that I have always liked.  I will enter it in the Art League Gallery small works exhibit for the month of November.
Hope it makes it in the show.

"Annie with Straw Hat" oil on canvas, 6"x6"

Costume Fever!

"Masquerade Over" oil on canvas (SOLD)
I love painting people in costume....love sequins and flowing gowns and glowing colors. Above is a painting of Laura that I completed a while ago. I entered it into the Art League Gallery in Alexandria for their October exhibit. The exhibit was called Body Language. She was sold the second day of the exhibit! Little sorry to see her go but happy she will give someone else viewing pleasure.

Back Again

"Little Dancer" Oil on Canvas, 8 x 10
Have been away for a while.  Have been working on two landscape paintings and two figure paintings. One small painting of a dancing girl as you see here is completed. Will post again with progress of the ones I am still working on.

Also a huge thing has happened in that since last Fall 2012, I have been working as an art teacher at a small private school near where we live. It's been a mixed blessing. I love the challenge of creating art projects for the children and seeing how they can do such precious work but....it's been extremely time consuming. Taking much time away from my fine art. Since I am new at it I have been working many hours after school and during the summers honing the curriculum and lesson plans. Time marches on but I will need to enjoy each moment no matter what I endeavor to do.

Little Video

Have recently completed a still life painting and while painting it, I thought it would be good to take pictures of the progression. Though...
